Florida Department of Transportation Hard at Work in Escambia County

Escambia County interstate highways are currently the focus of more than $400 million of construction upgrades. The work is aimed at increasing capacity for major transportation corridors and improving highway safety for one of Florida’s fastest growing regions.

Major interstate projects being administered by the Florida Department of Transportation in Escambia County include:

  • Widening of Interstate 10 between Davis Highway and U.S. Highway 29, along with major interchange improvements at I-10/Davis Highway and I-10/I-110.
  • Widening Interstate 110 to six lanes between the I-10 interchange and Maxwell Street.
  • Replacement of the Interstate 10/Escambia Bay Bridge.
  • Construction of a new Interstate 110 interchange at Airport Boulevard.
